Tims new generator room

Tim has removed his old patio and decided to build a generator room at the rear of his garage.

Tim is going to cast a concrete block to hold his genset. Here's the box being made with steel to give extra strength.

Box now in position with steel inserted and sited on the generator room floor.

Now the hard part.                      Before                                                                                   After

Up to floor height                                                  Sand blinding on top of hardcore

Damp proof membrane topped with insulation                                         Concrete laid

Internal wall up, outer following on laid mainly by Steve Flynn who Tim had lessons from. Steve runs bricklaying courses so if you want a generator room building or anything else putting up, Steve will come round to teach you how to do it and help in the construction. For more information try visiting  Steves web site HERE    Steve is pictured here doing what he does best.

The generator room has had another wall built internally to deaden the noise to outside.
